Dev/Ops Engineer

Vivox (Mercer Road Corp.) is the leading provider of voice chat for online games. We provide core technology to some of the world's best games such as World of Tanks, World of Warships, Elder Scrolls Online, EverQuest, H1Z1, Neverwinter Online, and many others. We work closely with game developers to integrate the technology and work to improve the social aspects of the game.

If you want to be a member of a growing DevOps team, you will have plenty of opportunity to learn and contribute to delivering our wide array of technologies. We do it at massive scale, while ensuring our users enjoy a high-quality voice experience. DevOps operates our own software in the cloud, on our own hardware, and in data-centers around the globe. You will work with components built on Centos, Puppet, Elasticsearch, F5, and Cisco, to name a few. And then, there will be the challenge of continuing to push scale and efficiency by creating and sharing the latest tools. If you have experience with some or all of the following technologies, then you may be the person we need:

  • Linux Adminstration (Centos preferred)
  • LAMP
  • InfluxDB/Redis/memchached
  • Postgres
  • F5, Cisco, or other networking hardware
  • Puppet and/or Salt, Terraform, Docker
  • Elasticsearch, Kibana, Grafana

Software Developer — DevOps & Continuous Integration

Job Responsibilities:

You will be involved in many projects, such as improving the speed and quality of our software delivery through automation, enhancing and maintaining a Jenkins/Atlassian based continuous integration (CI) system, managing builds for upwards to a dozen platforms, and supporting efforts of multiple development teams. You will have the opportunity to work with and evaluate many new and existing software development tools and technologies, some you may know and some you may not know. We are anxious to hire someone who wants to learn!

If you have experience providing continuous integration capabilities across multiple platforms and are proficient using Jenkins with cloud-based technologies such as AWS and Azure as well as Atlassian products such as Jira, Confluence, and Crucible, then send your resume so we can see if you have what we need and we can offer you the challenges you need! Software Developers

We are looking for recent college graduates and experienced professionals to work with our software engineering team and assist in enhancing the features, functionality, and scalability of our platform, that includes our custom provisioning server and our voice conferencing server, as well as testing both in game and out of game communications. You need to be able to not only write code that provides value to customers and end users, but also build the systems that can be used to test that software continuously and automatically.

We use C++ predominantly on all the major gaming consoles, mobile devices and PCs (for client code) and Centos (for server code). You may also run into plain "C", Objective C, Python, PHP, and Perl. You will be using at least a PC and a Mac and VMware.

In addition, Subversion, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, and Crucible are the tools that we use every day to keep software churning out.

If you have a passion for programming and some familiarity with the above-mentioned development tools, have a Bachelor's Degree and/or are currently pursuing a Master's Degree in a Computer Science related field, have a desire to learn some great skills, have the ability to work in our Framingham office, and above all like to play games while working, then please submit your resume to hr@vivox.com.
